I'm sure i'm not the only one coming up with this idea.
Please erase if it's redundant.
My "idea" :
-Make a Pilot's Service just like [Multiple Pilot Training Certificate] or [Pilot's Body Resculpt Certificate] to let player change the name of their toons. [Name Change Certificate]
- Make a [Name History] just like the [Employment History].
- Make an option while searching a toon name in [People & Places] to display result by actual name or concidering name history.
- Toon will still appear on watchlist even after a name change (make labels !).
Advantages :
- More money to CCP !
- No toon disapearing from contact.
- Can still find someone with name 'A' if he change to 'B'. |

Changed toon for character.
I don't see where is the issue with toon, but whatever.
I know CCP don't want to change characters' name cause of history / reputations thingy, but hey, they've changed so many principles the last year that i'm hopping to see this coming one day. (clones loss / clone reputation / jump fatigue / Null Sec revamp) |

Then the name means nothing security wise..
Because when looking at a list of names in local you do not have time to look at all 100 for a name change history to see if they might be 'x' who is known for awoxing fellow militia members. Just to give you exactly one example. Sure a character can be sold, but they still come with history and build on that. Buy a known awox character and see how many people believe you that it's been sold for example.
As long as everything going around a character is not affected by a name change, that means, reputation -5 -10, notes you put on his character, labels you put on him in your whatchlist, if you chose to see him logging off and logging out, once you figure out that John became Peter, it's done.
I really cannot see the issue, that's just pure ''conservativ" spirit. |

Why the hell would you look at a character bio ? Employment History ? Why the hell would you put any reputation at all to an individual ? Why would you care at all about what he did in the pass ? |

Like a "namehunter" or an "anti-spy" new profession, i do'nt know. |

I thought about a notification to anyone who had "John" in his contact list when he change to "Peter", but i thought it was "easying" the awareness all players should have in Eve Online when it comes to "Diplomacy" (contact/standings/etc).
But, yeah, that's a good idea.

As mentionned in my first message, Name history list, just like Emplyment history list, should prevent that, more if you had a notification to the player who put that character changing name in their contact. |
